Letter from the President: Locker Boxing. Potential Spring Evaluation Dates. Louis Ice Blast Champions. Player Profiles: Giovani G. Last week there was a locker boxing incident in one of our locker rooms after a team practice. The Chicago Hawks Hockey Club does not condone locker boxing in any form. Locker boxing rarely has any rules and frequently involves injuries, often to the head. The Hawks' top priority is the safety of our players.

Given the ificant time and resources the Hawks have devoted to concussion education and prevention, we are particularly sensitive to the dangers this activity presents. The Board will review our current policies to ensure that we are doing whatever we can to curtail this behavior. In the meantime, if we do find out about any more of these incidents, the player s involved will be subject to ificant punishment which may result in removal from the team.

Coaches have been informed that it is their responsibility to monitor the locker rooms frequently. I am thankful that no one was hurt, and appreciate your cooperation enforcing this policy. Tony Rossi, Jr. After a sluggish start and falling to their Central States rivals, the Romeoville Huskies, in their opening game, the team bounced back and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Highland Park Falcons, putting up the goals and registering shutouts in both games.

With a 3-way tie after the round robin was completed, special exception tie breaker rules came into play. Finally coming down to Fewest Goals Against, the Hawks prevailed and were now off to the finals for a rematch against the Falcons. A back-and-forth game amidst many penalties, the Hawks scored first, but the Falcons soon answered with a power play goal which ultimately forced a sudden-death overtime to break the tie. The first game saw the Hawks down to the Florida Golden Wolves late in the game. Keeping positive, and working hard, the Hawks not only tied, but won the game close to the end of regulation.

Game two saw the Hawks not play to their capabilities. The Hawks were up against the St. Louis Spirit. Yet they gave up three to the Spirit and tied Game three was against, Lakeland, the top team. The Hawks came out very slow and appeared to be threatened by the much bigger team from Lakeland, Ohio. Another incredible late comeback saw the Hawks tie Lakeland A rematch from the night had the Hawks playing Lakeland. Even though Lakeland outshot the Hawks by 20 in regulation, this game wasn't decided in the normal game time. A few minutes into the 3 on 3 five minute overtime, the Hawks pulled off that upset.
